Statement

Drawing and painting have been the most comfortable ways of communication I have had since I can remember. I consider them my first language. To me, Art has been a fundamental tool to capture the stories I want to tell in a unique and precise way.Nowadays, talking about my work is talking about motherhood because that is where I am now. I try to represent this theme by documenting through my drawings and paintings the moments and situations I share with my daughter, Josefina. She is six years old and as her mother, I have the opportunity to see her growing. This experience makes me conscious how ephemeral life is and gives me the need to preserve these moments in the language that I dominate. My artworks are not only images of a girl done by her mother, they are impressions of what the human purpose is: happiness.
